Larkin’ About was launched by way of a 12 hour event of games, art and mayhem in greenroom December 2009. Inspired by London’s Hide And Seek and New York’s Come Out And Play festival’s, it is an event of flashmobs, chases, labyrinths, treasure hunts and playful experiences. As well as instigating tried and tested games Larkin ‘About aims to create a forum for new games designers allowing them to test out ideas and games with real players. The ‘performers’ are the participants and they have a direct effect on the outcome of the activity or game, whether by creating something from the everyday and ordinary or simply by participating and being.
The next Larkin’ About event is Sat 27 Feb starting at 6pm in the greenroom bar, wear all weather clothes as some games are played outside.
Larkin’ About is also pleased to announce it will be creating a programme for the Eurocultured Festival in May and hopes to become staple part of the people of Manchester’s playtime.
