Method Lab is one of greenroom and hÅb’s co-produced initiatives for emerging artists.

Artists receive a package of support including a small commission, rehearsal space, mentoring, peer support and access to technical resources in order to present the developed piece at the Method Lab showcase in April. Artists are selected through the emergency platform, and must present work at emergency to be eligible for Method Lab selection.

In 2009 Method Lab commisions were Help Yourself by Ollie Smith and Phoebe Walsh, a tongue in cheek scurry down the aisles of your local self help bookstore; You Tube My Facebook by Robin Sidwell, which saw Robin embrace Radio 4 and yoga instead of Facebook; A Trillion Oscillations by Steffi Sachsenmaier, depicting the inner un-foldings caused by external events. Finally, Annette Foster presented the third part of her trilogy, Marlene Dandy, part circus sideshow, part burlesque dancer, partially bearded and performed on ballet pointe!

Method Lab also presented guest performances by Ed Rapley and Jo Bannon.
